Meg graduated from the University of Connecticut School of Law in December 2018 receiving her Juris Doctorate along with a Certificate in Human Rights. She earned the Thomas J. Stanley Award for her distinction in the study of labor law and earned the CALI Excellence for the Future Awards in Trial and Advocacy and in the Law and Forensic Science. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Yale University in 2012 with a major in Anthropology and a focus in Violence and Conflict Resolution. She was the four-year starting shortstop for their Division 1 Softball team and was named a 2013 NFCA All-American Scholar Athlete. Meg was the recipient of the Litchfield County Bar Association Scholarship and was named to the Northwest Connecticut Chamber of Commerce 40 Under 40 Award and in 2018, she was inducted into the New Milford High School Hall of Fame for her achievements in volleyball, basketball and softball

Before becoming an attorney, Meghan Lyon was a paralegal for seven years cultivating experience within a wide range of legal fields. She now focuses on Civil Rights, Workers’ Compensation and Personal Injury helping advocate for the rights of the marginalized, injured, and downtrodden. Meg’s an active member of the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association.

Although early in her career, she’s already argued precedent-setting cases on Appeal to the Compensation Review Board as well as proposed bills to the legislature to help codify legal rights and protections for immigrants in Connecticut.

Meg Lyon is about to serve her third year as Chairperson of the Workers’ Compensation Section of the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association. She has also earned distinction in the Best Lawyers in America: Ones to Watch for both Plaintiff work in Personal Injury Litigation as well as for Workers’ Compensation Law for Claimants. She’s a current member of the CT Bar Association’s Executive Committee and you can often see her at the capital testifying before the legislature on various workers’ compensation reform proposals.
